On July 28, 2021, Thermo Fisher Scientific (hereinafter referred to as Thermo Fisher), the world leader in the field of scientific services, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Management Committee of Suzhou High Tech Zone, announcing that it would invest in the construction of another brand-new factory under Thermo Fisher China manufacturing center in Suzhou High Tech Zone. The new plant will produce in vitro diagnosis and biopharmaceutical related products. After completion, it will become the largest life science industry base in Thermo Fisher Asia Pacific region. The total investment is $50 million, which is expected to be completed and put into use in 2022.
Based on the long-term friendly cooperation between Thermo Fisher and Suzhou High Tech Zone in the field of life science industry, the new factory of Thermo Fisher China manufacturing center in Suzhou planned to be invested in this time will focus on providing product and technical support for life science, biopharmaceutical, in vitro diagnosis and other industries that the state focuses on developing according to the 14TH five year plan and the strategy of "healthy China 2030". The new factory in Suzhou, after construction, will cooperate with the original factory to provide services to local customers, improve localized innovation and production capacity, and promote the healthy and rapid growth of regional industrial ecology.
