Huawei Lays out the medical field again

With 350 million users, Huawei has delivered more than 100 million wearables in total!


On June 14, Zhang Wei, CEO & president of Huawei Sports and health product line said that by the end of 2021, Huawei's cumulative global shipments of wearables had exceeded 100 million, and the cumulative global users had exceeded 350 million, cooperating with more than 80 global research institutions at the Huawei sports health innovation technology communication meeting,. According to Canalys data, the global shipments of wearable wristband devices reached 193 million units in 2021, with a year-on-year increase of 4.3%. Among them, due to the influence of overseas policies and the business separation, Huawei's market share fell by nearly 7% and its shipment volume fell by 40% year-on-year, but it still ranked 3rd with the shipment volume of 19 million units. At the communication meeting, Zhang Wei also announced the three major health research projects being promoted, innovative blood glucose, lung function health and high altitude health research.



Zhang said, Huawei will build a digital health ecosystem with seamless collaboration between software, hardware and services. The hardware includes smart watches & bracelets, children's watches, innovative terminals and smart products. Services include healthy life, healthy diet, scientific exercise, chronic disease management and cooperative services. The efficient collaboration of software, hardware and services through big data algorithms.


On smart wearable products, HUAWEI TruSeen™, the self-developed vital signs monitoring technology has lasted for 7 years, which integrates the innovative technologies of Huawei sports health science laboratory and Global Research Institute, and has achieved accurate and convenient health data detection in seven years and five generations. With the continuous optimization of software and hardware technologies, Huawei wearable products set new products and technologies in the field of medical and health care. At present, the watch GT 2 Pro ECG and blood pressure recorder on wrist, and ECG analysis prompt software have all obtained the registration certificate of class II medical devices issued by NMPA, which can conduct preliminary screening for cardiovascular health problems such as atrial fibrillation, premature beats, blood pressure, etc.


According to Huawei's official website, it has provided services to more than 200 Class A tertiary hospitals and more than 20 provincial health platforms, such as Concorde and 301. In addition, Huawei has signed strategic cooperation agreements with United Imaging and Philips, jointly releasing the smart medical dat.


On the whole, the company` s focus is not only on the hardware sales of traditional medical devices, but also on making the technology accumulation of artificial intelligence, big data and long term accumulated products.
