With the support of artificial intelligence, predicting tumor gene mutations from conventional histopathological images is becoming a clinical reality. On October 11, 2025, KingMed Diagnostics, Tencent, and the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University (National Center for Respiratory Medicine) jointly announced the co-development of a multimodal pathology-genomics large model, based on the DeepGEM AI framework, to provide accurate, timely, and accessible gene mutation prediction technologies for cancer patients.

The DeepGEM model, developed by the Guangzhou Medical University team in collaboration with Tencent, has been published in The Lancet Oncology, marking a major leap from “seeing cancer through images” to “decoding genes from slides.” KingMed’s participation brings additional clinical validation data and real-world application scenarios for lung cancer diagnosis, while also expanding the model’s scope toward generalizable, multi-organ, multi-cancer, and multi-omics AI-assisted diagnostic solutions.

Ustar Biotechnology Signs Exclusive OEM Agreement with Leading Pakistani Healthcare Enterprise to Co-build Localized Production and Diagnostic Ecosystem

On October 7, 2025, Ustar Biotechnology officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with three public health institutions in Pakistan and entered into an exclusive OEM partnership with a leading Pakistani healthcare enterprise to promote the localized production of molecular POCT diagnostic products.
