Shanghai, China — December 2, 2025 | Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Shanghai Waigaoqiao New Development Park to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Agilent Shanghai Manufacturing Center (ATS) and announce the official opening of its new Chromatography Column Manufacturing Center.

This milestone underscores Agilent’s long-term commitment to the Chinese market and further strengthens its leadership in global supply-chain resilience and innovation.
The new facility will begin by producing liquid chromatography (LC) columns, with gas chromatography (GC) column production scheduled to start in fiscal year 2026. Localized manufacturing will significantly enhance Agilent’s ability to provide timely, on-the-ground support to customers and better meet the growing demands of the local market.
Padraig McDonnell, President and CEO of Agilent Technologies; Wu Qunfeng, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee (International Business Cooperation Zone Administration); Cai Rong, Chairman of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Group Co., Ltd.; and members of Agilent’s executive leadership team attended the ceremony, marking a pivotal moment in the company’s continued development in China.
“Our celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Shanghai Manufacturing Center also symbolizes a new chapter in our ‘In China, For China’ journey,” said Padraig McDonnell, President and CEO of Agilent. “We remain focused on accelerating customer-centric innovation, building long-term and robust partnerships, and being a trusted partner to our customers as we work together to address their most complex challenges.”
Since its establishment in 1995, the Shanghai Manufacturing Center has evolved from an assembly and technical service operation into an integrated hub encompassing R&D, manufacturing, and supply-chain functions, including procurement, logistics, an innovation center, and a customer solutions center. Earlier this year, the facility was recognized by the World Economic Forum as a Global Lighthouse Factory for achieving a 56% increase in manufacturing efficiency, a 31% reduction in lead time, and customer satisfaction exceeding 96%.
Looking ahead, Agilent will continue to expand localized production and advance intelligent manufacturing technologies, enabling customers to achieve breakthroughs and explore the frontiers of science together.
