1. Vaccination numbers updated

More than 10.86 million doses of vaccine had been administered in 29 countries as of January 1, 2021 EDT, according to Bloomberg. Six countries have vaccinated more than 100,000 people, in that order: China, the United States, Israel, the United Kingdom, Russia and Germany.

China has received 4.5 million doses, or 0.32 percent of the population.

The United States, which opened registration for vaccination among health workers on December 14, has given 3.48 million doses, or 1.06 percent of the population. 

Israel received 950,000 doses, 10.5% of the population; Is currently the country with the highest proportion of new crown vaccines.

The UK received 947,000 doses, or 1.42 per cent of the population.

Russia received 440,000 doses, or 0.3% of the population.

Germany received 165,000 doses, or 0.2% of the population.

2. How effective is the prevention?

Within the nine leading vaccines in the world, five of them have been officially approved. Including：

Pfizer/Biontech (Germany) mRNA vaccine BNT162B2; Prevention effect 95%;

RNA vaccine mRNA-1273 from Moderna, Inc. was 94.1% preventive;

The adenovirus vector vaccine, AZD1222, developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford, was 70% effective.

The adenovirus vector vaccine GAMCOVID-VAC LYO from Gamaleya Institute in Russia was 91% effective.

The inactivated vaccine of Sinopharm (Sinopharm) was 79% effective in prevention.
