Korea In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Device Association visited CAIVD on 26 June

28 June 2024 - Mr. Eui-Yul Choi, Chairman of Korea In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Device Association, CEO of Boditech Med, led a delegation to visit China Association of In-Vitro Diagnostics (CAIVD), on 26 June 2024.

Prof. Haibo Song, Chairman of CAIVD, Director of IVD Industrial Development Institute, SAEM, Founder of CACLP.

Prof. Hualiang Wang, MD, Ph.D., Professor and President of Shanghai Academy of Experimental Medicine, Chairman of the Experimental Medicine Branch of the National Health Industry Enterprise Management Association, Chief Editor of VIEW.

Mr. Xuyi Zhou, Vice Chairman of CAIVD, Chairman of Hangzhou Association for Promotion of In-Vitro Diagnostics Industry, Chairman of Joinstar Biomedical Technology Co., Ltd.

Ms. Karen Dai, Executive Deputy Secretary of CAIVD, General Manager of CACLP. 

Ms. Bing Zhao, Deputy Secretary of CAIVD, Deputy General Manager of CACLP.

Mr. Hui Zhou, Secretary General of Hangzhou Association for Promotion of In-Vitro Diagnostics Industry.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the development and international positioning of the IVD industry in China and Korea. They fully affirmed the achievements and experiences of their respective associations.

The Korean side highly affirmed the increasing influence of CAIVD, PCEM and CACLP in the international arena, and their efforts to promote international academic exchanges and the internationalization of the industry. Both sides agreed to further strengthen the exchanges and cooperation.

Mr. Eui-Yul Choi, as the co-founder and CEO of Boditech Med Inc, provided a overview on Boditech’s development. 

In May 2019, Prof. Haibo Song and his team were invited to visit Korea In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Device Association and Boditech.

Prof. Haibo Song praised their efforts on the company's exceptional employee welfare initiatives, such as establishing kindergartens for employees, and noted their value as a model for Chinese enterprises.

Prof. Haibo Song also commended Boditech’s business successes in China, particularly mentioning Boditech (Guangxi), Boditech (Qingdao), and ChinMax Boditech (Shanghai). He expressed confidence in the continued achievements of the association under Mr. Eui-Yul Choi's leadership.

Mr. Eui-Yul Choi acknowledged the rapid growth and innovation of Chinese IVD companies and highlighted CACLP as one of the world’s largest IVD exhibitions with significant international influence. He expressed his intention to bring a delegation of Korean companies to CACLP next March to foster deeper cooperation between Chinese and Korean enterprises, a move welcomed by Prof. Haibo Song.

Prof. Haibo Song also introduced the cooperation between CAIVD, PCEM and CACLP and global academic and industrial associations.

Prof. Hualiang Wang introduced the VIEW journal and invited Korean experts to participate in the academic events held concurrently with CACLP 2025. 

Mr. Xuyi Zhou emphasized CACLP’s commitment to internationalization and attracting more global participants, creating a first-class IVD exhibition that showcasing leading technologies from various countries with different halls to support the global development of the IVD industry.

Prof. Haibo Song and Prof. Hualiang Wang presented Mr. Eui-Yul Choi with the Volume I and II of In Vitro Diagnostic Industry in China, published by Springer-Verlag, the open-access journal VIEW.

The visit marked a significant step in strengthening China-Korea cooperation in the IVD field. Both parties identified numerous areas of common interest and potential for future collaboration, committing to work together to advance the global IVD and medical device industries.
