On 26 October 2024, China Association of In-Vitro Diagnostics (CAIVD) hosted the IVD Youth Entrepreneur' Working Conference in Hangzhou. Representatives from over 20 IVD companies were invited to participate in this gathering.
Prof. Haibo Song, Chairman of CAIVD, Director of the IVD Industrial Development Institute, and Founder of CACLP, attended and highlighted the current momentum of IVD companies expanding abroad. He acknowledged that while there are promising opportunities, challenges remain in the global market. To address these, companies are focusing on enhancing product development, improving product quality, and raising service standards to strengthen their global competitiveness. Song emphasized that international expansion not only supports market growth but also boosts technological advancement, brand influence, and the ability to meet domestic competition—key strategic directions for IVD companies pursuing global opportunities.
The meeting also addressed the preparations for the upcoming Enlightening Lab Med - The 8th IVD Youth Entrepreneur Forum (ELM·Y), scheduled to take place in March 2025 during the 22nd China International In Vitro Diagnostic Expo by CACLP. Attendees discussed topics and speakers for the forum, sharing valuable insights and ideas.
In addition, the meeting reviewed the accomplishments of IVD young entrepreneurs in 2024, including support for promising startups in areas such as brand promotion, competitive analysis, risk assessment, funding, and business model optimization. Representatives also noted the effective advocacy efforts made this year, including support for legislative feedback by National People's Congress representatives on key industry challenges, such as clinical pricing, cold chain logistics, and ethical approval for clinical trials—efforts that have effectively voiced industry concerns and pushed for policy improvements.
