On 25-26 October, 2024, China Association of In-Vitro Diagnostics, National Association Health Industry Enterprise Management, held its expanded working meeting in Hangzhou, China, focusing on strategic developments in the in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) sector.
Prof. Haibo Song, Chairman of China Association of In-Vitro Diagnostics, Director of IVD Industrial Development Institute, SAEM, Founder of CACLP, presented a comprehensive update on recent activities and upcoming initiatives. Key highlights included:
• Preparations for the Convergence of Laboratory Medicine & In Vitro Diagnostics: This event, set for March 2025 in Hangzhou, will feature the 22nd China International In-Vitro Diagnostic Expo (CACLP), the 10th Experimental Medicine Conference of China, and the 12th IVD Industry Development Conference of China, along with numerous forums and sessions.
• Annual Distinguished IVD Leadership Awards: Organized by the event committee to recognize excellence in the IVD industry.
• Formation of the AI and Digital Twin Technology Professional Committee: Supporting the integration of cutting-edge technologies in laboratory medicine.
• Publication of the 2023-2024 Volume of In Vitro Diagnostic Industry in China (Chinese version): This latest edition will provide a comprehensive industry overview and insights.
• Upcoming 3rd Edition of In Vitro Diagnostic Industry in China (English version): To be published by Springer-Verlag, this volume will serve as a vital international reference on the Chinese IVD industry.
Professor Song further emphasized the association’s commitment to policy advocacy, collecting industry feedback, and fostering international collaboration. Plans to establish a dedicated IVD media platform in partnership with People’s Daily Health and the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) aim to enhance industry visibility and serve as valuable references for government decision-making.
Prof. Wang Hualiang, MD, Ph.D. Professor and President of Shanghai Academy of Experimental Medicine, Chairman of the Experimental Medicine Branch of the National Health Industry Enterprise Management Association, Chief Editor of VIEW, announced the official formation of the AI and Digital Twin Technology Professional Committee. This committee marks a significant milestone in promoting advanced technology integration within China’s laboratory medicine landscape.
Attendees voiced strong support for these initiatives, acknowledging their importance to the field.
